Jennifer is a relationship/dating coach
and clinical psychologist who offers coaching, counseling,
and educational workshops for singles and couples. She is
passionate about helping people build satisfying relationships.
Jennifer decided, even before high school, that she wanted
to be a psychologist who helped people with their relationships.
As a teenager, she noticed that relationships were important
to people, but they often weren’t very good at them!
So, she attended the University of Denver, where
she majored in psychology, completed a two-year research-focused
honors program, and graduated summa cum laude. During those
four years she worked at the University’s Center for
Marital and Family Studies, where she carefully studied couples
communication behavior.
She continued on to receive her PhD in clinical psychology
at the University of Kansas where both her master’s
thesis and doctoral dissertation focused on understanding
infidelity. Her training in couples and relationships continued
during her internship at the University of Wisconsin where
she trained under a nationally known couples and family psychologist.
She also completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at
the University of Rochester’s Medical Center, where
she studied family psychology and provided therapy to individuals,
families, and couples.
Jennifer has attended numerous training workshops
to keep up to date on the latest tools and techniques for
helping singles and couples find happiness. These workshops
were developed by experts in the field of relationships and
included: the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program
(PREP), John Gottman’s Marital Clinic, Emotionally Focused
Therapy for Couples, PAIRS program, Healing After the Affair,
Stepping Together for Step-Families, and Hot Monogamy. In
addition, she has been a volunteer for three years at the
Smart Marriages yearly conference, where she has attended
over 60 presentations on innovative methods for helping relationships
succeed.
Currently, Jennifer is the author of a monthly relationship
advice column for The Rock Magazine. In addition, she pens
quarterly dating book reviews for Savvy Singles Magazine.
She also teaches dating workshops at Singles University in
Denver.
